Riverside Brookfield High School was honored to welcome Illinois State Superintendent Dr. Tony Sanders to our campus. We were also proud to host State Senator Mike Porfirio, State Representative Abdelnasser Rashid, and staff from the Illinois State Board of Education during this special visit.
Dr. Sanders experienced the spirit of RBHS as he toured our building. He flipped a tortilla in our culinary lab, listened to a jazz rehearsal, visited the RBTV studio, greeted turtles in Applied Zoology, and connected with students and staff throughout the day. During his visit, Dr. Sanders also learned about our partnerships with the trades, like our Plumbing Training Program and annual Trades Fair, which further provides students with career opportunities.
Special thank you to our Student Board Advisors, Hanaa Boguenous and Aryan Hernandez, and Student Association President Santiago Medellin, for leading the school tour and representing our school with enthusiasm and leadership.
We are grateful for Dr. Sanders’ visit and the chance to highlight the programs, students, and educators that make Riverside Brookfield High School a great place to learn and grow.
