Congratulations to senior Sofia Miller on placing third overall in the state at the Distinguished Young Women of Illinois Scholarship Program, the state branch of the nation’s largest and oldest scholarship program for high school girls.
Sofia was selected as one of the top 22 senior girls in Illinois after completing a rigorous process that included personal interviews, public speaking, a physical fitness routine, and a talent presentation. She was also evaluated on her scholastic achievements, which include her grades, advanced placement classes, test scores, and extracurricular activities.
Her outstanding performance earned her scholarships to 12 colleges and three cash scholarships to use at the college of her choice. In addition to her third-place finish in the state, Sofia received recognition for her exceptional dance talent and earned first place in the fitness category.
