Senior student Maiana Nelson attended the COP28 United Nations Climate Summit in Dubai! Maiana was 1 of 6 Chicago area students invited by It's Our Future, a Chicago youth climate advocacy group that connects students from across the Chicagoland area interested in environmental conversations, to be a COP28 US Youth Delegate. During this conference, Maiana engaged with youth and indigenous leaders from over 200 countries and brought what she learned back to the RB community. She was able to meet individuals with similar passions as hers, such as environmental filmmaking. Looking toward the future, Maiana wants to possibly start her own organization to teach sustainable practices to people across the globe.
