The District 208 Board of Education is accepting applications for the Student Advisor to the Board of Education position for the 2023-24 school year.
Purpose:
A student representative will serve as an advisor, non-voting member, to the Board of Education. The Student Advisor gives perspective to both the Board of Education and the student body. The student advisor is excluded from Closed Sessions unless otherwise directed. The Student Advisor will:

- Attend all regular meetings of the District 208 Board of Education during their term.
- Meet with the Principal before each Board of Education meeting to discuss meeting materials.
- Prepare/present on behalf of the student body on meeting agenda items and topics.
Candidate:
The student should be a currently enrolled junior (Class of 2024) in good academic standing (on pace to graduate, good attendance, no major discipline infractions to date, and passed all classes first semester).

Tentative Selection Process & Timeline:
- The week of April 17: The Administration will review the applications to ensure the applicants meet all the requirements.
- The week of April 24: Interviews will be conducted (School Board Representatives, Superintendent, and Principal).
- May 22, 2023: School Board approves the recommended candidate.
- August 8, 2023: Student Advisor attends their first Board meeting.
