CONGRATULATIONS TO RB MODEL UN for taking part in the 17th annual Carthage College Model UN Conference. The students represented the Russian Federation, Kuwait, Poland, Singapore, and Bolivia and served as an advisor to President Kennedy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. All 20 students were awarded $4000 scholarships to Carthage for their participation in the event. Great work Bulldogs!

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM for competing this past Saturday at the state finals. The seven girls who ran included Hailey Jurgens, Tara Janney, Nadia Kaczmarz, Emma Fortman, Melissa Oliveira-Liz, Cora lutes, and Emma Forberg. Five of the seven girls ran their fastest times ever for the 3 mile race. As a team, they led RB to a 12th place finish overall, the highest ever finish for the team in school history.

 

THE BOY’S RUN FOR STATE WAS EXCITING TO WATCH! These athletes pushed each other at practice and in races to be better runners and competitors. Their effort is seen in the team winning Conference Championship, Regional Championship, Sectional Championship and this weekend they finished 11th in State! These guys are Mateo Nunez (All-Conference, All-Regional, All-Sectional & All State!); Connor O'Brien (All-Conference, All-Regional & All-Sectional); Jacob Wardzala (All-Conference, All-Regional and All-Sectional); Jack Sagan (All-Conference, & All-Regional); Matt Zamudio, Ryan Hahn, Nick Allegretti, Evan Jones, Nathan Palmer, and David Keen (All-Conference frosh-soph level). They had a great season!

COLLEGE BOUND STUDENTS-

Do you have questions about FAFSA, scholarships or financial aid?  Stop by the table in the cafeteria to have your questions answered on Tuesdays in the month of November.

 

DO YOU PLAY AN ELECTRIC GUITAR, bass guitar,drums, or any rhythm section instrument? Try out for the 6th Man Band, auditions are being held after school on Thursday November 10th and Friday November 11th at 3:15 pm in the band room. The 6th Man Band is a rock band that plays at all Friday Night Boys Varsity Basketball Games playing the music YOU WANT to PLAY!!  Sign up for your audition now!!!  Audition sign up sheets are located in the band room or on Mrs. Kelley's classroom door in room 213.

 

ATTENTION STUDENTS: Per the school handbook: Hats and Hoods are not allowed to be on during the school day. Students that are found to have headgear on will loose their hat for the day and their parent or guardian will be asked to pick it up from the Main Office. For students wearing hoods, if you are found to have a hood on during the school day you will be issued a lunch detention on the spot from the Deans and security.

 

WANT FREE TUTORING? Come to room 136 Mondays and Tuesdays after school and Wednesdays and Fridays before school for homework help from National Honor Society students.

 

EVERY TUESDAY STUDENTS CAN REDEEM THEIR HERO POINTS DURING ALL LUNCH PERIODS. If you have hero points you  would like to redeem for prizes please see Mr. Mannon or Ms. Sullivan in the cafeteria.

 

THE BULLDOG BOOK CLUB BOOKS ARE IN! Come see Mrs. Phillips in the library if you'd like to borrow a copy of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children to read for our next meeting.  All are welcome to join us in our discussion before school on Thursday, November 10.
