STUDENTS INTERESTED IN TAKING AN AP EXAM THIS MAY, REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.

Please follow the link on the RBHS main page under News & Announcements to access the registration page.  If you are not currently enrolled in an AP course, remember that the fee for each AP Exam is $93 and should be paid in the Business Office.  If you have any questions please see Mr. Baldus in Student Services.

 

MODEL UN MEMBERS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING THE LT CONFERENCE FEB 27TH PLEASE STOP BY ROOM 241 AFTER SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY  2/16.

We will meet briefly to finalize positions and hand out permission slips. Please contact Ms. Cunningham with any questions.

 

ALL GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING ON THE GIRLS WATER POLO TEAM

there will be a mandatory meeting immediately after school today in room 130 (The Forum Room).  If you are unable to attend this meeting, please contact Coach Fridrych.

 

TODAY IS THE FIRST DAY OF THE BLOOD DRIVE SIGN UPS

If you are 16 you are eligible to donate blood. Sign ups are during lunch in the student cafe and in room 216. Studies have shown that donating blood regularly lowers the chance of heart disease, so please come out and sign up for the Feb 24 Blood Drive!

 

ATTENTION SENIORS: The local scholarship applications are now available on the Student Services website!  The deadline for most applications is March 11th, although a few scholarships have a different deadline. Please see your counselor with any questions.

TICKETS ARE BEING SOLD FOR THE CITY/SUBURBAN HOOPS SHOWDOWN ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH IN THE ATHLETIC OFFICE.

RB will be taking on number 1 ranked Morgan Park at 6:00pm at Lyons Township North HS.  Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $8 for RB Students.  

Don't miss this chance to see the Bulldogs take it to the high flying Mustangs of Morgan Park!!!

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING STUDENTS WHO WERE SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE METRO SUBURBAN BAND AND JAZZ FESTIVAL TOMORROW AT RIDGEWOOD HIGH SCHOOL.

Alec Frank, Alexandria Hodges, Amelia Haugland, Antonio Jimenez, Joey Kinnan, Kristin Picard, Manny Sida, Natalie Lisle, Rebecca Perry, and Tommy Kelliher. These students will rehearse all day with the festival conductors and perform a concert at 6:30 pm. The concert is free and open to the public.

THIS PAST WEEKEND, THE RB CHESS TEAM COMPETED AT THE IHSA STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS, THE LARGEST CHESS TOURNAMENT IN THE COUNTRY.

The Bulldogs won 5 of 7 matches and finished in 21st Place out of 146 teams. The Bulldogs also took 1st Place out of 33 teams in their division based on school size! Seniors Lukas Kulbis and Tristan Kotlicky led the way with four victories each. Seniors Jacob Bell and Collin Taylor added three wins each and first year seniors Tadas Kunickas and Elvis Begic added three important wins. Sophomore Jackson Hajer had three wins and a draw and Junior Ray Greco added a big win as a backup. Two Bulldogs, Sophomore Luke Graham (4 wins and 2 draws) and Freshman Joey Vitek (4 wins and 1 draw) just missed All-State Honors.

If you would like to volunteer on February 25, 26 or 27 for the RB Boutique set-up, clean-up or the day of the event please contact Morgan Kraus or the SA. We need all kinds of help and fashion expertise. Not to mention some brawn to carry the heavy racks for the set-up and clean-up.

Special thanks to Mrs. Sarkady for coordinating the development of RB Boutique websites as part of the class curriculum. A contest was held over the weekend and voting took place for the last few days. The contest winner will be announced shortly. Thank you to all the students who participated!
