Dress Code

Students must put away all electronic devices upon entry into the classroom. This includes cell phones, earbuds, headphones, etc.
 
At Riverside Brookfield High School, a student’s appearance, including dress and grooming, must not disrupt the educational process, interfere with maintaining a positive teaching/learning climate or compromise reasonable standards of health, safety, and decency as directed by the Administration and Staff.
 
Clothing that is deemed vulgar, inappropriate, unsafe, or disruptive to the educational process (e.g., advertising/display of alcohol, drugs, sexual innuendo) is not permitted and students will be required to change into appropriate clothing.
 
Students may wear:
  • Hats facing straight forward or straight backward. Hats must allow the face to be visible to staff and not interfere with the sightline of any student or staff.

  • Religious headwear

  • Headwear including but not limited to headscarves and bandanas

  • Hoodie sweatshirts (wearing the hood overhead is not allowed, in any instructional environment)

*Footwear is required at all times to comply with Health Code regulations.

*Wearing a hat/non-religious headwear in the instructional environment will be at the sole discretion of the classroom teacher
