Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me. (Pause). Actually, words can and do hurt. Our words can comfort and express that we understand or that we “see” the other person in front of us. And of course, our words can do the opposite: they can hurt, isolate and make someone feel insignificant. Today, pay attention to the words you are using to speak with others. Are they kind, uplifting, or inspirational? Or are they mean, derogatory, or offensive? Know that the words you choose to use matter and then choose to be kind. Join us at lunch and send a Kindness Card to someone else. Use your words for good.
