"Come by Doors A and G on Monday next week for some hot cocoa or coffee to kick off Finals Week. Money raised will go to Girl Up Club. Girl Up partners with the UN to promote the advancement of adolescent girls in developing countries. Make an impact while enjoying a warm beverage.

 

The ski / snowboard club will be traveling to Devils Head on Dec 27th. All students who are signed up for the trip must attend one pre trip meeting. The 3 options are today at 3:10, next Wednesday Dec 19th at 11:20, or next Thursday Dec 20th at 11:20. If you have any questions please see Mr. Shermack in room 105.

 

It's that time of year... the North Riverside Library is pleased to offer all Riverside Brookfield students Finals Survival Kits all day Monday, December 17 through Thursday, December 20 -  Free with your school ID. They are open until 8:00 p.m. daily. Study rooms are also available.

 

Pack the Place - This Friday the boys & girls basketball programs are excited to bring back the "Pack the Place" experience against conference rival ICCP. There will be exciting events including the "Hot shot" contest and other various prizes. Put your name in the raffle box during lunch all week and make sure to clear your schedule for Friday night pack the place with the girls starting at 5:30 followed by our boys at 7:00. Come support all of our winter programs this Friday!

 

The Shakespeare Competition is back and open to all students. Memorize one of Shakespeare's sonnets and a two-minute monologue and compete in the Little Theater on January 25 during the school day. Our local winner will compete in February at the Chicago area competition. See Ms. Hayes in room 276 for more details.

 

Attention seniors! Your superlative ballots and senior quote forms are due on Friday! Turn them in to Mrs. Marsh in room 262. Also, senior ads for the yearbook are due by December 31st, so remind your parents to complete an ad for you as soon as possible. Contact Mrs. Marsh with any questions.

 

Save the date! On February 9, Berwyn will be hosting the Students in Technology Conference. The purpose of the conference is to provide a place for students to learn about different tech tools and demonstrate their own tech skills. If you're interested in attending, check out sitconference.org (that's s-i-t conference.org) or see Ms. Wilmot.

 

Students, this year the Martin Luther King Day of Service will be held on Monday, January 21. The event is sponsored by the PTO and NHS. The goal is to build 150 basic survival kits to help the homeless. They are seeking Donations of the following items:New adult sized gloves, hats, socks, hand/foot warmers; Soap, toothpaste/toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo/conditioner;hand lotion, lip balm, small bottles of water, non-perishable food items: fruit/granola bars, hard candy, nuts, fruit cups, tax deductible Monetary Donations via PayPal will be used to purchase additional items. Items can be dropped off at RBHS, local grade and middle schools and the following local organizations: Riverside Library, Brookfield Library, North Riverside Commons with designated MLK Day of Service Donation Boxes from December 15 – January 15.
