Riverside Brookfield High School District 208 has been selected as a Google for Education Reference District.
Google for Education Reference Districts demonstrate excellence and thought leadership through the innovative use of technology, including G Suite for Education and Chromebooks, to create positive learning outcomes.
Riverside Brookfield High School was invited to apply for the program due to the district’s advanced integration of technology into the curriculum. The district’s application highlighted how the 1:1 initiative, where every student will have a chromebook by the 2018-19 school year, improves a student’s educational experience. Key parts of the application focused on the research and implementation of the 1:1 initiative, the technology professional development program for staff, and the outstanding lessons designed by teachers.
As a Google for Education Reference District, Riverside Brookfield High School will provide guidance to other districts who hope to become 1:1 schools or use Google tools, and Riverside Brookfield High School also will host one GoogleEDU event each year.
The district looks forward to assisting other schools in the future, particularly as it strives to continue using technology to enhance student learning, increase student engagement, and create learning opportunities with endless possibilities.
