On Tuesday, April 26, 2016, the Riverside Brookfield Township High School District 208 Board of Education approved the appointment of Nicholas Curby as a mathematics teacher and head wrestling coach beginning with the 2016-2017 school year. Nicholas is currently a mathematics teacher and head wrestling coach at Plainfield East High School.
Nicholas is a graduate of the University of Illinois where he wrestled for five years. Nicholas coached two IHSA State Team Runner-Ups (2004, 2008) during his five years as an assistant varsity wrestling coach at Providence Catholic. For the last eight years, Nicholas has been a mathematics teacher and head wrestling coach at Plainfield East High School. In the past three years, ten wrestlers qualified as individuals in the IHSA State Tournament. One of those wrestlers was an individual State Champion and two other wrestlers were individual All-State wrestlers. Nicholas has also coached athletes at the University of Illinois summer wrestling camp for the past 13 years. In addition to his notable coaching experience, Nicholas has excellent leadership skills and an impressive vision for our wrestling program. The school community is excited to welcome him to Riverside Brookfield High School.
