CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RBHS SCHOLASTIC BOWL TEAM
for their record-breaking performance at the NAQT Illinois State Championships this Saturday. The games took place at the University of Illinois and our team finished tied for 17th in State, the highest final ranking in the history of the organization. With an incredible 5-5 record versus the best teams in Illinois, including Loyola Academy, Lake County Academy, and the U of C Lab School, RB defeated very strong opponents including Springfield High School, Peoria Christian, and Naperville North. The team consisted of seniors Chris Olszewski, Monika Janas, Nick Jepson, and David Buksa; as well as Juniors Marly Santora, Alec Frank, and Remy Doornebos. Please offer your congratulations to these players, and wish them luck at Masonic this weekend, and at Nationals in May. The team is coached by Mr. Gibbons.
THERE WILL BE A MANDATORY MEETING FOR ALL GIRLS INTERESTED IN PLAYING SOFTBALL
The meeting will be tomorrow, at 3:15 in room 221. If you are not able to attend please see coaches Schultz, Holt, Gaines or Rack.
THE BOOK OF THE DAY IS RECOMMENDED BY FRESHMAN YOLANDA SHEPPARD she recommends Burned by Ellen Hopkins. Seventeen-year-old Pattyn, the eldest daughter in a large Mormon family, is sent to her aunt's Nevada ranch for the summer. While there, she temporarily escapes her alcoholic, abusive father and finds love and acceptance, only to lose everything when she returns home.
