ABBOTT AND FENNER SCHOLARSHIP

AES SCHOLARSHIP

ASPIRING ANIMATION PROFESSIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

AXA ACHIEVEMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
This is a $2,000 scholarship. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal residents and be a current senior who will be enrolling full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university. Applicants are ambitious and motivated, as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community, or work activities and be recommended by an unrelated adult who can attest to this achievement. AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The AXA Achievement Scholarship offer college scholarships of $10,000 and $25,000 to high school seniors who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their activities in school, the community or the workplace. Fifty-two students will be selected to receive $10,000 scholarships, one from each stated, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. From the state recipients, 10 students will be named AXA Achievers and receive additional national awards at $15,000 each for a total of $25,000 per national recipient. B. DAVIS SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution. BALANCED MAN SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,750 scholarship is offered to incoming male students who have excelled in the areas of scholarship, leadership, athletics, and community service during their high school careers. Applications are available in Student Services.
BEST BUY SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who will be attending a college, university or vocational school in the fall immediately following their high school graduation. Scholarship recipients are selected based on volunteerism efforts along with academic achievements. Best Buy partners with Scholarship America to handle the administration and selection of recipients. BETA SIGMA PSI LUTHERAN SCHOLARSHIP

Yearly scholarship with a maximum of $3,000 (renewable three times). Applicants must be a senior in high school, have a minimum ACT score of 28, a U.S. citizen, and be accepted as a full-time student into an undergraduate degree program by a 4-year accredited college in one of the following fields of study: liberal arts and sciences, engineering, architecture, or business. DLA THINK (about architecture) SCHOLARSHIP
At DLA Architects, we don’t only see the THINK [about architecture] Scholarship as a competition, but also as a learning experience all around. We hope that by participating, you learn to look at the built environment around you and think about why things are done the way they are and how these decisions affect everyone who uses the building or grounds. ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION- Most Valuable Student Scholarship
This scholarship is open to seniors who are U.S. citizens. There will be 500 4-year scholarships awarded ranging from $1,000-$15,000 per year. Applications are available in Student Services or at www.elks.org/enf/scholars.
FRANCES HESS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is based on need, scholastic attainment, scholastic potential, and community service. The amount of this scholarship varies based on the student's financial need and post-secondary plans. Applications available in Student Services.
FUELING THE MINDS OF THE FUTURE

GATES MILLENIUM SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American, or Hispanic American. Must be citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the United States, have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale, be enrolling for the first time at a U.S. accredited college or university as a full-time, degree-seeking, first-year student in fall 2011, have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities, meet federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria, and have completed and submitted all three required forms (Nominee Personal Information Form, Nominator Form, and Recommender Form) by the deadline. GE – REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

GEORGE MAUGOLIAS MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

GEORGE M. PULLMAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Eligible applicants can receive up to $4,000 towards their first-year's college tuition. Scholarships are renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) of full-time undergraduate study. Recipients must live in Cook County, demonstrate financial need, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and eligible to receive state and federal aid and will complete the FAFSA. GREAT CLIPS COSMETOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
This $500 scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior that will be pursuing a career in cosmetology or barbering after graduation. The scholarship can be used at any accredited cosmetology or barbering school in North Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. Applications are available in Student Services.
GREENHOUSE SCHOLAR
Students must be a senior attending a four-year accredited academic institution, US citizen, Colorado or Illinois resident, have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or above, demonstrate financial need, demonstrate strong interest in the community and possess excellent leadership skills. GUARDIAN LIFE INSURANCE GIRLS GOING PLACES ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD
Girls Going Places is Guardian Life Insurance Company’s annual initiative designed to reward enterprising and community-minded girls ages 12 to 18. Guardian grants cash prizes to girls who demonstrate budding entrepreneurship; taking the first steps to financial independence; and making a difference in their school and communities. Awards range from $1,000 to $10,000. Applicants must submit a personal statement of no more that 250 words and a 750-word letter of endorsement from an adult- parent, teacher, or mentor. HISPANIC HERITAGE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Hispanic Heritage Foundation along with Colgate-Palmolive is offering one $15,000 scholarship and fifteen $2,500 scholarships to high school seniors. Applicants must complete a short essay (500 words or less) answering one of the following questions: How has your Hispanic heritage influenced your academic and personal long term goals? HORTATIO ALGER SCHOLARSHIP

ILLINOIS AMVETS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

- Illinois AMVETS Service Foundation Scholarship- One year $1,000 non-renewable scholarship. Applicants must be high school seniors and have taken the ACT or SAT.
- Illinois AMVETS Sad Sacks Nursing Scholarship- One year scholarship, amount to be determined. Applicants must be Illinois high school seniors who have been accepted into a pre-approved nursing program. Applicants must prove satisfactory in academic record, character, interest and activity record, and financial need.
- Illinois AMVETS Junior ROTC Scholarship- One year $1,000 non-renewable scholarship. Applicants must be an Illinois high school senior, have taken an ACT or SAT, and participate in Junior ROTC program.
- Illinois AMVETS Trade School Scholarship- One year $1,000 non-renewable scholarship. Applicants must be an Illinois high school senior who has been accepted in a pre-approved trade school program.
- Illinois AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship- One year non-renewable $500 scholarship. Applicants must be an Illinois high school senior, be a child or grandchild of a Veteran of the USA who served after September 15, 1940, and was Honorably Discharged or who is presently serving in the military, and have taken the ACT or SAT.
- Illinois AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Worchid Scholarship- One year non-renewable $500 scholarship. Applicants must be and Illinois high school senior, be a child of a deceased father or mother who was a Veteran of the USA who served after September 15, 1940, and was honorably discharged. They need not be killed in action or died as a result of service-connected disability. Must have taken ACT or SAT.
ILLINOIS ELKS CHILDREN’S CARE PROGRAM: PHYSICAL/OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY SCHOLARSHIP

ILLINOIS LUMBER AND MATERIAL DEALERS ASSOCATION EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Academic scholarships available for $500-$2,000 to selected students to pursue industry-related course work at colleges and universities. Student must be enrolled full time in a certificate or degree program in an accredited trade school, 2-year junior college, or 4-year college or university and be a resident of Illinois. Students may apply each year for up to 4 years. 1,000 word personal statement, official transcripts, and 2 letters of recommendation are required. ILLINOIS ODD FELLOWS AND REBEKAHS SCHOLARSHIP
Students must have a “C” average and provide proof of financial need by submitting a current copy of an IRS 1040 or proof of electronic filing. Applicants need not be affiliated with the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, but must be a resident of Illinois and a citizen of the United States. Application can be found at http://www.ioof-il.org.
ILLINOIS PTA, LILLIAN E. GLOVER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Two scholarships will be awarded in each of the PTA’s 19 districts, 1st place= $1,500, 2nd place= $1,000. Applicants must be in the top 33% of their class, be a graduating senior preparing to enter an Education or Education-related degree program requiring certification from a state board of education. ILLINOIS SONS OF ITALY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
High school seniors of full or partial Italian ancestry are invited to compete for scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each. Applicants will be selected base on financial need, scholastic achievements, activities in high school showing character and leadership, and the applicant’s personal essay and faculty recommendations. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Illinois Sons of Italy Foundations in writing at 9447 West 144th Place, Orland Park, IL 60462. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
ITALIAN CATHOLIC FEDERATION SCHOLARSHIP
This is a $400 scholarship to Catholic graduating seniors of Italian descent who have at least a 3.2 GPA. (If either parent or grandparent is a member of the Federation, the applicant must be Catholic but need not be of Italian ancestry to qualify). JAPANESE AMERICAN CITIZENS LEAGUE
The Japanese American Citizens League is offering several scholarships to graduating high school seniors based on academic achievement, school and community service, activities, and financial need. JOINT CIVIC COMMITTEE OF ITALIAN AMERICANS

JOSEPH BLAZEK FOUNDATION
This $500 scholarship is available to a senior living in Cook County who shows financial need. The applicants must be majoring in one of the following fields: Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or Science. Applications are available in Student Services.
JOSEPH SAVINO EDUCATION AWARD
This $500 scholarship is available to a senior who has participated in serving his or her community, has a “B” GPA, demonstrates leadership qualities, and has a plan to pursue college and major in a social science field. Applications are available in Student Services.
KFC COLONEL’S SCHOLARS PROGRAM
This $5,000 a year scholarship is available to high school seniors that will be attending a public, in-state college or university. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher and must be a US citizen. The online application will be available at www.kfcscholars.org.
LATINOS PROGRESANDO: DR. ANGELA PEREZ MILLER SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This $1000 scholarship is available to student meeting the following criteria: must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree-seeking program or certificate program at an accredited college or university, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours, demonstrate financial need, be a Latino or immigrant student, demonstrate community service and reside in Cook County. LEAGUE FOUNDATION at AT&T LGBT SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarships are available to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender high school seniors who have a 3.0 GPA, significant involvement in community service, and are accepted to an accredited US college or university. Scholarships range from $1500-$2500. Applications are available at www.leaguefoundation.org.
LINCOLNLAND LEGENDS
This scholarship is open to all juniors and/or seniors with a special emphasis on students who have demonstrated business and/or community leadership. Application forms can be accessed at www.illinoisdollarsforscholars.org . An essay of 750-1,000 words is required. There will be 20 winners in the state of Illinois with a top scholarship of $6,000 awarded.
MARIAN JOY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES
Scholarship awards in amounts up to $5,000 and can be renewable up to $12,000. This scholarship program is intended for those individuals with permanent physical disabilities who are pursuing educational programs at accredited four-year colleges and universities, two-year colleges, or vocational-technical schools in the United States. MARINE CORPS SCHLARSHIP FOUNDATION

NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR COOPERATIVE EDUCATION
National program which awards two hundred $6,000 scholarships to the following schools: Clarkson University, Johnson & Wales University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Toledo, Drexel University, Kettering University, University of Cincinnati, University of Massachusetts Lowell, State University of New York Oswego, and Wentworth Institute of Technology. NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY- STOKES EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
Applicants must be U.S. citizens, have an ACT of 25, at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, demonstrate leadership abilities, and major in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, or Foreign Language. NORDSTROM SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
This scholarship is open to high school juniors who reside in and attend school in the Chicago area. Applicants must have at least a 2.7 GPA, have made a substantial contribution to the community, be involved in school activities and demonstrate the financial need for a scholarship. Five $10,000 scholarships will be awarded. To apply, students will need to complete an application which includes a personal statement, financial statement, a letter of recommendation, and an original essay of no more than 500 words in response to one of three statements. The Paramount Tall Club of Chicago is offering $750 to a high school senior who meets the height requirement (minimum of 5’10” for females and 6’2” for males) and is planning to attend a 2-year or 4-year college this fall. PFLAG- JEAN PAUL OHADI SCHOLARSHIP
The Glenview PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) organization. $1,000 scholarships offered to students between the ages of 17-22 applying to attend or currently attending a post-secondary institution and who are a resident of Illinois. PRINCIPAL’S LEADERSHIP AWARD
Scholarships of $1,000 to $12,000 will be awarded to 100 outstanding seniors from across the United States. Nominees must exhibit leadership, participation in organizations and clubs, achievements in arts and sciences, employment experience, and academic success. THE RON BROWN SCHOLAR PROGRAM
Applicants must be African-American seniors who make significant contributions to society. Applicants must excel academically, exhibit exceptional leadership potential, participate in community service and demonstrate financial need. Must be U.S. citizen or hold permanent resident visa card. Amount is $10,000 annually for 4 years. For a total of $40,000. Application postmark deadline is November 1, 2009 to be considered for the Ron Brown Scholarship and to have applications be forwarded to a select and limited number of additional scholarship providers. THE SECRETARIAT – KATHRYN G. HANSEN SCHOLARSHIP
This is a $500 scholarship to be used for tuition, fees, books, or other educational expenses at any university within the state of Illinois. Applicants must be a high school senior pursuing higher education in an office professional, secretarial, or business-related field within the state of Illinois. Applicants must write a 500 word essay explaining future educational and career plans, provide two letters of recommendation, and submit a high school transcript. SHERIFF'S OFFICE OF COOK COUNTY
This $500 scholarship will be awarded to five seniors demonstrating outstanding scholastic, extra-curricular and character potential. Applications are available at www.cookcountysheriff.org
SIGMA NU FRATERNITY PURSUIT OF EXCELLENCE SCHOLARSHIP
The Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship is a $2,500 one-time scholarship awarded annually to a male incoming freshmen planning to attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. SIMON YOUTH FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS

The Seguin Retarded Citizens Association will provide two $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who have the intent of serving persons with developmental disabilities.
