LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS WILL BE POSTED ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8TH. THE DEADLINE FOR MOST SCHOLARSHIPS IS FRIDAY, MARCH 15TH BUT SOME DEADLINES MAY BE EARLIER.
AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITY WOMAN (AAUW) RIVERSIDE BRANCH SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship honors Ann Willard, a former president of AAUW. The scholarship is awarded to a senior girl at RBHS who has demonstrated an interest in the arts, good citizenship, maturity and responsibility. The candidate must have at least a 2.5 GPA. AARON SEMENSKE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Aaron Semenske Scholarship Foundation will award a renewable $2000 academic scholarship to one senior student/athlete. The scholarship will be considered on the basis of academic achievement, athletic participation, involvement in the community and/or religious groups, and demonstrated leadership in the community. Applicants must be in the upper quarter of the graduating class, earned a varsity letter in at least two sports, give evidence of leadership activities, give evidence of demonstrated community service and must be accepted at a 4-year college or university. Recommendations from a faculty member, a varsity coach, and a religious or community leader are also required. Click HERE for application.
BLOOD DRIVE SCHOLARSHIP
Candidates must have assisted in the planning of the Blood Drives at RBHS or donated blood. The candidates must submit a short essay which includes a personal statement explaining why donating blood is important and how this experience will impact their future. FLORENCE ROONEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Candidates for this scholarship must be a resident of Brookfield, plan to attend a 2 or 4-year college or trade school, have demonstrated community service, show evidence of financial need, and have a minimum GPA of a 3.0. Click HERE for application.
KIWANIS CLUB OF BROOKFIELD SCHOLARSHIP
The Kiwanis Club of Brookfield is offering two $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors residing in the Village of Brookfield. The criteria used for determining the awards will be academics, financial need, and participation in community and school activities. Click HERE for application.
RENEE PETIT FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP
The Renee Petit Fine Arts Scholarship is intended to assist students who have exhibited outstanding aptitude and creativity in one or more of the fine arts to pursue their educational and or professional studies. The candidate must have earned a minimum GPA of 3.5 in all fine arts related high school course work and a minimum overall GPA of 2.0. A short essay, a letter of recommendation, and a performance based product which showcases the candidate's talents and achievements in at least one of the fine arts are required. RIVERSIDE BROOKFIELD EDUCATION ASSOCIATION
(RBEA) ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP GRANT
The RBEA has established academic scholarship grants of at least $500 to be awarded to graduating seniors. This year's scholarships will be considered on the basis of academic achievement, and involvement in the school and community. Candidates must rank in the upper 20% of the senior class at the end of seventh semester. Finalists may be asked to participate in an interview with the RBEA Scholarship Committee Members. RIVERSIDE MASONIC LODGE SCHOLARSHIP
The Riverside Masonic Scholarship is a one-time $700 scholarship which is awarded to a graduating senior at RBHS. Applicants must be in the upper 25% of the class. Academic and extra-curricular activities will be considered. Click HERE for application.
RICH PORT YMCA MEN'S CLUB SERVICE AWARD
The Rich Port YMCA Men's Club is seeking nominees for the Club Service Award. This $750 cash award is given annually to one senior at RBHS. The purpose of this award is to recognize a student committed to community service. This is not an academic achievement award nor is it a scholarship. Interviews will be held. ROTARY CLUB OF BROOKFIELD-RIVERSIDE
OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE RECOGNITION AWARD
The Rotary Club will recognize one graduating senior who have demonstrated an outstanding level of community service activity and a GPA of at least 2.5 during their high school career. Hours of service to the school, through school organizations and school-sponsored activities, and hours of service given in the community through religious, fraternal, and civic organizations will all be considered in the determination of these one-time awards of $750. STEVEN J. DUVE MEMORIAL FUND (not offered for the 2012-13 or 2013-14 school year)
The candidate must have at least a 3.25 GPA during the last 3 semesters, have an interest in nature, the environment, and/or ecology, participated on at least two athletic teams during both their junior and senior years, and be attending a 2 or 4-year college next fall.
KRISTEN FUERST AWARD
This $1000 scholarship is a memorial to Kristen Fuerst, an RBHS student who died in a train accident in 1989. This scholarship is awarded to a senior female tennis player attending a four-year college or university who demonstrates good teamwork traits, integrity, and a solid work ethic. The winning candidate is determined by the head tennis coach at RBHS. Click HERE for application.
ROBERT P. GWINN AWARD
A monetary award will go to a senior planning to attend a 4-year college or university to study business or finance. Academic achievement, personal goals, and involvement in the field of study will be part of the consideration. The recipient will be chosen by the Applied Arts Department. Cick HERE for application.
OTTO HAACK AWARD
A monetary award will go to a RB senior planning to study in the area of industrial technology. Academic record, career goals, and involvement in the field of study will be considered. The recipient will be chosen by the Applied Arts Department. Click HERE for application.
ANTON AND DAWN HELLER AWARD
A monetary award will be given to a media/technology student. The recipient will be chosen by the Media Department. Click HERE for application.
JAMES A. SWANSON SCHOLARSHIP
The James A. Swanson Math Scholarship will be given to at least two graduating seniors planning to further their studies in math-related majors. Awards vary from year to year. Click HERE for application.
THE RYAN WOMACK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Ryan Womack Memorial Scholarship is administered through the Riverside Presbyterian Church. Any student who has been an active member of the Riverside Presbyterian Church or who has been a member of the Youth Group for two year is eligible to apply for the award through the church. A church board of fifteen members determines the winners. Awards are renewable yearly. Eligible recipients will be notified by the church.
THE EDWIN R. FREDERICKSEN SCHOLARSHIP FUND
F/B/O RIVERSIDE BROOKFIELD HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
This scholarship is for the education and training of graduating RB students who will be attending a technical college or a trade school. It is also available to students attending a 4-year college and plan to major in the engineering field. The scholarship is possible thanks to the very generous donation made by the late Edwin R. Frederickson and will be administered by the Fifth Third Bank. The scholarship is based on, in order of importance; need, scholastic attainment, scholastic potential and community service. RIVERSIDE BANK SCHOLARSHIP
$1,000 scholarship awarded to one graduating senior from RBHS. The recipient will be selected on the basis of positive leadership and character as exhibited by academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, and involvement in the community. Applicants must have maintained a “B” average or better and plan to enroll full-time at an accredited two or four-year college, university, or trade/vocational school. Applicant’s total family annual income may not exceed $60,640 adjusted gross income per federal income tax documents. JEFF NIMMERRICHTER VISUAL ARTS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is based on donations to the Friends of the Arts endowment in the memory of Jeff Nimmerrichter, 2008 graduate of RBHS. Students who apply should have extensive experience in at least one of the following areas…drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, and/or printmaking. Student must also intend on pursuing the visual arts beyond high school. This scholarship is a one-time $500 scholarship to be applied towards the recipient’s educational studies. At least one letter of recommendation required from an RB visual arts teacher. Other requirements and applications are available in the student services department. Click HERE for application.
RIVERSIDE JUNIOR WOMEN'S CHARITY SCHOLARSHIP
This $1500 scholarship is given to recognize a female Riverside student with outstanding community service and strong leadership qualities. The recipient must have at least a 3.0 GPA, have demonstrated leadership qualities by serving in a leadership or coordinating capacity for one or more community service projects, and plans to attend college next fall. RIVERSIDE GARDEN CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
The Riverside Garden Club will recognize two graduating seniors with a one-time $500 scholarship each, who have demonstrated an interest in horticulture, the environment, botany, biology or ecology during their high school career. Participation in activities that support their interest may have been achieved through school activities, community service or work. Seniors planning to attend a 2-4 year college or trade school are eligible. Recipients must be Riverside residents. MAYOR’S YOUTH SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – NORTH RIVERSIDE
This scholarship is available to US citizens and North Riverside residents who are under the age of 25. The following must be submitted to the North Riverside Village Hall by May 1st: completed application, copy of driver’s license or state identification card, minimum of two letters of recommendation, and a short essay. Applications are available in Student Services.
